Experience covers both pre and post contract experience as a quantity surveyor on building and civil engineering projects for civil engineering and quantity surveying consultants and contractors. On the basis of this experience spent 4 years managing the commercial department of a contracting group involved in civil engineering, marine and M&E works. Through this experience has developed an in-depth working knowledge of construction processes, costs and economics which has been applied extensively to the research and analysis of the causes and effects of delays and disruption to construction and engineering works.

19 years specializing in preparation/assessment of claims

19 years of specialist experience in assisting contractors and employers with their preparation/assessment of claims for additional time and payment.

Team leader in claims preparation/assessment and expert witness assistance

On the basis of this experience and knowledge acts on behalf of clients, either as a senior member of a team or supervising others in a team, in the preparation/assessment and negotiation/settlement of claims for additional time and payment. Has also worked under the direction of and assisted expert witness many times in mediation and arbitration in respect of assessment of additional cost/loss and expense/damages claims, measurement issues, adjustment of rates, valuation of variations and causes and effects of delays and disruption to construction and engineering works.
